The MA in Rural Development Studies is a two year four semester Master Degree Program in Arts of Tribhuvan University, Nepal. MA in Rural Development Studies is a multi-dimensional program Even today, most of the world’s population lives in rural areas. But, the problems of rurality vary from country to country. MA in Rural Development Studies is Nepal’s indigenous course developed to address the problems of unique Nepali rurality. There are altogether 20 papers in total, distributed into four semesters along with the 6 credit compulsory thesis at the end of the course. Among the papers, Rural Development, Local Governance, Rural Urban Linkage, Project Management, Natural Resource Management and Rural Development Planning are the major ones. The MA in Rural Development Studies aims to produce development cadres capable to meet the demand for higher level rural developers in government and non-government sectors.
